✿❀ Tenjinyama Artist Residency 2017 ❀✿
In summer 2017, I completed and showcased a series of paintings at the Tenjinyama Artist's Studio residency in Sapporo. The residency served as a learning process for a medium I rarely worked in (acrylic gouache). I drew inspiration from the abundance of nature that Hokkaido had to offer, while contrasting it with a superflat style inspired by the feelings of congestion & claustrophobia I got in the city areas.
Back in Melbourne, I worked with local risographer Tree Paper Gallery to copy one of the paintings to a four colour risograph print.
